In the state of Georgia there are over 9,000 children in foster care. In our community, there is close to 300 children in care. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a local non-profit, volunteer organization that provides advocacy for these children. Currently our program serves less than 70% of the children in foster care in Clarke and Oconee Counties. Our goal is to serve 100% of the children and to serve them as soon as they come into foster care  You can help the children of our community.

Volunteer Training

​Orientation for those accepted into our next training will be February 5th, 2025. The first day of Spring training will be February 13th, 2025.

​We are currently accepting applications and conducting interviews for this class.
Application deadline to join our Spring training is January 27th, 2025.

Volunteers are trained locally to provide advocacy locally. Training is held both on-line and in person. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn about the juvenile court, DFCS, and most importantly the needs of the children in  foster care. ​
Informational Sessions​
Our next informational session is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20th, 2024. We will host it at  5:30 p.m. at our office 693 North Pope St. Athens, GA 30601.
